Los Cabos Film Festival Day 3: Third Annual Film Festival Gala

Yesterday was the third annual Film Festival in Los Cabos, and the red carpet began to shine about 8 p.m. with appearances by fantastic actors and Los Cabos entrepreneurs, including Ana Layevska (Mexican actress),Jose Mará Yazpic (Mexican actor), Guillermo Arriaga (writer and director), the Sánchez Navarro family (Los Cabos entrepreneurs),Maya Zapata (Mexican actress), Ruben Reachi (tourism secretary), Delia Sanchez (Golden Zone’s manager of public relations), and Elizabeth Nicholson (Luxury Avenue’s manager of public relations in Los Cabos), among others.
In an interview, actress Maya Zapata said she was very happy to be in Los Cabos for the first time and praised the region for its promotion of Mexican cinema, telling Morelia that it now has competition.
The ceremony included a tribute to the work of writer-director-producer Guillermo Arriaga, best known for films like Amores Perros, 21 Gramos, Babel, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, and The Burning Plain.
Arriaga was on hand to introduce the film Words with God, saying that it was a “a Mexican production filmed in nine countries with eight of the best directors and myself, who slipped in. This film is an endeavor, and we believe nobody deserves to be rejected, judged, or killed for religious beliefs, sexual preferences, politics, or what you decide to put in your body.”
