LIGA MAC 11th Annual Fundraiser – 2015
March 23, 2015 @ 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM$150 – $350
Monday, March 23rd , 5PM to 11PM The event that everyone is waiting for, the LIGA MAC 11th Annual Fundraiser is just around the corner. Tickets are on sale now. Taking place at fabulous Flora Farm, the date is Monday evening, March 23rd. The setting is the Mango Grove at Flora Farm. The time is 5PM for VIP Private Concert ticket holders and 6pm for General Seating ticket holders.
In the lush setting of Flora Farm’s Mango Grove, LIGA MAC supporters will be entertained with the sounds of Nena Anderson. Born and raised in Encinitas, California, Anderson has been nominated for numerous San Diego Music awards in jazz, americana, acoustic and new artist categories. Her style is hard to pinpoint, described as anywhere from moody, minor-keyed, driving swamp-blues, to rollicking 60’s piano soul, to catchy two-step country; all of which will be right at home grooving at the Farm (www.nenaanderson.com). Anderson will be accompanied by her band and Grammy Award winner Alex Woodward. Late night entertainment will be provided by Flora Farm’s local famed talent, The Shamans, who will keep the party hopping.
An incredible dinner by Flora Farm Kitchen will be served at various food stations throughout the event and a cash bar will be available. 100 per cent of the bar proceeds will be generously donated by Flora Farm to LIGA MAC. The dance floor in front of the stage creates a guaranteed good-time hootenanny ambiance to celebrate LIGA MAC’s hard won successes and thank those whose donations assist the approximately 1750 families in San Jose del Cabo.
At the LIGA MAC annual event, funds are primarily raised through pledges. It is an exciting part of the evening as some of LIGA MAC’s heart-rending stories of pain and relief, struggle and success, and hopelessness turned to hope are shared. It is a time when Mexican, American and Canadian people are able to give back to the Los Cabos community, working ‘hand in hand’, as stated in the LIGA MAC motto.
LIGA MAC offers education, basic needs help, and medical assistance programs. More than four hundred and fifty local school children are enrolled in the ACE stay-in-school program. They receive assistance with mandatory school uniforms, tuition fees and supplies; fees that not all families can provide. Students also have access to free programs developed by LIGA MAC in response to the needs of the community. These include life skills, ESL classes and so much more. The students commit to staying in school, maintaining a good average and performing one community service per year. The Basic Needs program reaches out to families in distress. It is a three-month program that offers a dispensary service of clothing, household items and food as well as counseling; helping find solutions to emergency family situations. The Medical Assistance program connects patients in need of treatment with local programs and funding when all other avenues are exhausted
