Del Mar Development, Snell Real Estate and SUP Mexico Present the 1st Ever Los
Cabos SUP Classic (Stand-Up Paddle Board Race)
( Los Cabos, Mexico -September 21, 2010) – SUP Mexico, Snell Real Estate and Del Mar Development
would like to announce the first ever Los Cabos Stand-Up Paddle Board Classic at Palmilla
Beach November 4th-7th 2010, benefiting the Cabo Tortuga Foundation. We are very excited to
be bringing an event of this kind to Cabo while working to better educate our community on how
we can protect our sacred ocean and marine life.
More than 40 competitors including several SUP pros will be taking part in the three day race
which will include two turtle releases, hours of beach activities for children and adults, live
entertainment, local restaurants and more.
Stand-up paddle is currently the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and is quickly gaining
momentum in Latin America. With the recent efforts of SUP Mexico, we have seen a jump in
popularity right here in Los Cabos and other parts of Mexico throughout the last year. Our goal is
to introduce this environmentally friendly sport to our community, local youth, avid surfers and
water lovers. Education presented throughout the classic will provide great exposure to the sport
as well as to the importance of the sea turtles and our environment.
For the last ten years, Cabo Tortugas has been entrusted with protecting the sea turtles in Los
Cabos. The foundation currently has 5 protected nests and works closely with local hotels and
authorities to protect the turtles in their natural environment.

Tentative Schedule of Events:
Thursday, November 4th, 5pm
Welcome Cocktail Party at Palmilla Beach hosted by Baja Blue. Turtle release will kick off event,
participant registration, rules ceremony.
Friday, November 5th, 10am-5pm (Competitors begin at 9:30am)
RACE DAY #1 (3-mile relay). Festivities begin at 10am. Open to spectators, featuring children’s
activities, entertainment, raffle tickets, benefits, food and beverage available for sale.
Saturday, November 6th, 10am–5pm (Competitors begin at 7:30am)
RACE DAY #2 (Elite Race from Punta Gorda to Palmilla, 10 miles, 1.5-3 hr. duration). Festivities
begin at 10am featuring children’s events, activities, entertainment, raffles, clinics.
Saturday Night, 8pm – Everyone is invited to a Rock Band party at Baja Blue. (Old Rusty Putter.)
Featuring a Special buffet menu. $200 pesos, includes one drink. Tickets available at the event or
at Snell Real Estate at the Shoppes at Palmilla– 14-45200
Sunday, November 7th, 10am-5pm (Competitors begin at 9:30am)
RACE DAY #3 (4-mile relay). Festivities begin at 10am with the third day of activities.
Sunday Night, 5 pm: Second Turtle Release and Closing ceremony (open for all). Immediately
following, a Taco party for participants and sponsors at Club Ninety Six sponsored by Snell Real
Estate and Del Mar Development. Tickets available at the event or for sale at Snell Real Estate.
